Tips for printing and scanning

  • Print at 6 cm. The printed layout makes each code 6 cm wide. The phone apps assume that size when they work out how big to draw the glyph, so a bigger print makes bigger content.
  • Matte paper, good light. Glare on glossy paper or a screen can hide a code from the camera. Keep the white border around each code: scanners need it.
  • Mind where it goes. The test card, video, web page and forms suit a wall or a table. The singing bush stands on its code, so give it a table. Rusty and Pip need the floor and a little room to wander.
  • Size lines. Some payloads start with a size: line, such as size: *4 for four times the code. How sizes work.
  • Quest. The headset's tracker reads codes up to QR version 10. All of these are well under it.
